Local SEO services help a tradie or small business show up when someone nearby searches for the work they do. A typical search is the trade plus a suburb, like "plumber Tarneit", or a person opening Google Maps while they're already standing in the problem. The businesses that win those searches aren't always the biggest. They're the ones whose Google listing and website clearly say what they do, where they work, and how to reach them.

WestReach Digital does local SEO for tradies and small businesses across Melbourne's west, from Tarneit and Truganina out to Werribee, Point Cook, Sunshine, Footscray and Melton. The service is two things done together for one business: local SEO, and management of your Google Business Profile. It starts with A$399 setup, then A$349/month plus GST.

What local SEO actually is

Local SEO is the work that helps a business appear in local search results: the map pack of three businesses near the top of Google, Google Maps itself, and the normal results underneath for searches with a place in them.

Google says it ranks local results mainly on three things: relevance (how well a listing matches the search), distance (how far the business is from the person or place searched), and prominence (how well known and well reviewed the business is). Local SEO works on the parts a business can influence:

  • Relevance: the right categories, services and wording on the listing and website.
  • Distance signals: a clear service area, so Google understands which suburbs you cover.
  • Prominence: a listing that is complete, active and reviewed, plus consistent business details across the web.

It is different from general SEO, which tries to rank a website across the whole country for broad topics. A plumber in Wyndham Vale doesn't need to rank in Brisbane. They need to be the obvious choice for people in Wyndham Vale and the suburbs around it.

What our local SEO services include

Google Business Profile setup and clean-up

We check the listing from top to bottom: business name, primary and secondary categories, services, description, service area, hours and photos. Anything wrong or missing is fixed in the setup.

Service area that matches the van

We set the suburbs you actually cover, so a resident in Truganina or Point Cook can see you come to them. If you work from home, the address stays hidden and the listing shows the service area.

Monthly Google posts

Up to four posts a month on your listing, about real work, services and seasonal jobs. They keep the profile active and give searchers something current to read.

Review replies

We reply to up to eight reviews a month in your business's voice. You approve any reply to a negative review before it goes out.

Local SEO on your website

Your website should name your trade, your suburbs and your services the same way the listing does. We work on the pages you already have; a new site isn't required to start.

Consistent business details

Your business name, area and contact details should match everywhere they appear. We check that the listing and website agree, and flag places where they don't.

Who our local SEO services are for

The service is built for one trade or one small business working in Melbourne's west:

  • Tradies who get most of their work from people nearby: plumbers, electricians, roofers, builders, landscapers, air conditioning techs, pest controllers, cleaners, locksmiths and mechanics. Our SEO for tradies page explains how the work differs by trade.
  • Small local businesses that serve a set of suburbs rather than the whole country.
  • Owners who are on the tools all day and want the listing looked after without learning another dashboard.

It suits you if most of your calls come from within a short drive, if a missed call usually means a missed job, and if your Google listing is the first thing a new customer sees.

It's probably not the right fit if you sell nationally online, need a full advertising campaign, or want a new website before anything else. Website design and development is quoted separately when it's needed.

Four-step process: enquiry, setup, monthly management, owner control

Local SEO for small business: why the listing comes first

For a small business, the Google listing usually does more work than the website. Someone with a leaking tap or a tripped safety switch doesn't read five websites. They look at the map, compare two or three listings, and call the one that looks open, local and specific to the problem.

That's why our local SEO services start with the listing. A complete, active profile gives Google clear signals and gives the customer a reason to call. The website then backs it up with the detail: your services, the suburbs you cover, and answers to common questions.

A local SEO agency or local SEO company is worth it when the hours you'd spend on the listing are worth more on the tools. If you'd rather do it yourself, our upcoming local SEO checklist guide will walk you through the basics.

Local SEO and regular SEO

Regular SEO tries to rank a website for topics that are not tied to a map. Local SEO is the map results, the Google Business Profile, and pages that name the suburbs you serve. A local SEO company doing both under one retainer is a wider job than this plan. WestReach is the local half: one listing, and the site only so far as it should not contradict that listing. A national article program is quoted separately, or not at all.

Links and citations

A citation is your name, phone, and website repeated on a directory or another site. Google's local ranking page says prominence also depends on how many sites link to the business and how many reviews it has. We check the main directories so those three details match. We do not sell a blast of links, and we do not buy them. A link from a page you do not control is not part of the A$349 month.

Industries we serve

The trade pages are SEO for plumbers, SEO for electricians, and SEO for roofers. Other trades can use the same listing work. They do not get a page until one is written. The overview is SEO for tradies.

Posts and questions

Posts and questions are deliverables, not extras. The month includes up to four posts you approve, and a plain answer to a question on the listing if you want one drafted. We do not post questions to ourselves, and we do not stuff suburbs into the answer. Unused posts do not roll over.

Reviews, inside Google's rules

Ask after a real job, and send the link. Google's contribution policy prohibits incentives for a review, a change, or a removal, and it prohibits discouraging negative reviews or asking only the happy customers. That last pattern is review gating. We will not do it. Replies cover up to eight reviews a month, within two business days. You approve any reply to a negative review.

Local SEO across Melbourne's west

WestReach is based in Tarneit and Truganina and works across the five western councils: Wyndham, Melton, Brimbank, Hobsons Bay and Maribyrnong. The Melbourne page lists every suburb we cover, grouped by council.

Launch suburbs: Tarneit, Truganina, Werribee, Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Wyndham Vale, Williams Landing, Altona, Sunshine, Footscray and Melton. Each has its own page explaining how local search works there, from new estates near Tarneit station to older streets in Footscray.

Local SEO questions

How long does local SEO take to work?

It varies by suburb, trade and how complete the listing was before. Fixing categories, service area and details can help fairly quickly. Building prominence through reviews and regular activity takes months. We don't promise rankings or timeframes.

Is local SEO worth it for a small business?

If most of your customers come from nearby and find you on Google, the listing is often your most-seen advertisement. Keeping it complete and active is usually worth more than a one-off fix. Whether it's worth it for you depends on your trade, your area and how much work you can take on.

What's the difference between local SEO and normal SEO?

Normal SEO tries to rank a website for broad topics anywhere. Local SEO focuses on searches with a place in them, the Google map results, and your Google Business Profile, so you show up for people near the suburbs you serve.

Do I need a new website for local SEO?

No. Local SEO can start with the website you have. If you need a new site, website design is quoted separately.

Do you guarantee first place on Google?

No. No one can honestly guarantee Google rankings. We do the work that Google says matters for local results and keep it going every month.

What do you need from me to start?

Your trade, the suburbs you cover, and access to your Google Business Profile (or help creating one). Send the trade and suburb through the contact page.

Is the A$349 per suburb?

No. It's per month for one business, whichever suburbs that business covers.

Tell us the trade and the suburb. We'll check your Google listing first.
