SEO for roofers in Melbourne's west
SEO for roofers in Wyndham, Hobsons Bay, Brimbank, Maribyrnong, and Melton. Photos of your own roofs matter more than a second category we cannot verify.

SEO for roofers helps a roofer show up when someone nearby searches. The map panel is where leak calls start. The panel reads a Google Business Profile. This page sits under SEO for tradies and beside Google Business Profile. WestReach maintains one listing. Setup is A$399. The month is A$349 plus GST. No lock-in. No ads. No website build inside that fee.
Weather, and the rest of the year
After heavy rain, searches for leaks and urgent repairs pick up, and people call a listing that looks open and specific. That pattern is ordinary trade experience. This page does not attach a rainfall millimetre or a "searches jump by" percentage, because we do not have a sourced figure for Melbourne's west. The rest of the year is planned work: restoration, replacement, gutters. Those customers compare photos and reviews, because a roof quote is large and the finished work is hard to see from the nature strip.
Hours and an honest emergency line cover the storm call. Photos and replies cover the quote. Both have to be true. Do not tick emergency if you do not answer.
Searches we will build around only when you do the work:
- roof leak repair
- emergency roof repair
- roof restoration
- gutter replacement
- gutter cleaning
- roof plumber, if that is actually your trade and not a keyword
- tile roof repairs
- metal roof replacement, including Colorbond if you install that product
- storm damage
- roof inspection
Gutter cleaning is a service. It is not automatically a second category. See below.

Categories
Google's help page on categories says to select a specific category from the list, that you cannot create one, and that categories affect local ranking. Use a few additional categories, not one for every job.
The primary label to look for in the dropdown is Roofing contractor. We say "look for" because Google's public help page does not print an Australian trade glossary. A category tracker that is not Google has recorded the display name Roofing contractor. Trackers are not the authority. The live dropdown is. If Roofing contractor is missing from your account, choose the closest specific roofing label the list does offer and tell the owner what you saw. Do not leave the profile as a generic contractor because a blog preferred a different string.
Do not add a gutter-cleaning category or a roofing-supply category unless that exact label is in the dropdown and it describes the business. If you clean gutters, add gutter cleaning as a service. If you sell roofing supplies to the public as a real part of the business, and the dropdown contains a supply-store label, then it can be discussed. A supply store that is a separate business should be its own profile, which is the same department rule Google states for other industries.
"The primary category is one of the strongest signals" was our wording, not Google's. What Google says is that the categories you select affect local ranking. This page uses that sentence and stops.
Services, area, photos
Services are the jobs, in customer words, omitted when you do not do them. Most roofers travel, so the listing is a service-area business unless customers visit a yard. The home address stays hidden. No virtual office in a bayside suburb to catch Altona searches. The area is the suburbs you will drive among the five councils.
Photos are the proof. Before-and-after pairs are allowed when both frames are the same roof. They are not allowed when the "after" is a catalogue sheet. Leave out the street number and the customer's face. We will not upload stock roofs, invent a warranty, invent a licence, or invent a count of roofs replaced. If a number goes on the listing, you supplied it and you will stand behind it.
Bayside houses in Altona and Williamstown generate roof and gutter calls. An earlier Altona line said salt air is hard on roofs. That causal claim was removed. You may say you take bayside roof work. You may not quote a corrosion rate.

Reviews and posts
Send the review link after a job. Up to eight replies a month, within two business days, you approve the negative ones. No discount for a star. No request to delete a review in exchange for a free repair.
Posts, up to four, approved: a real before-and-after, a note to clear gutters before the wetter months without a fake rainfall stat, what to do when a stain appears, storm-week availability if you have it, suburbs you are in. No address in the caption.
The website
A page per main service, suburbs in sentences, a tappable phone, fast on a mobile. The plan does not rebuild it. Setup includes a clash list: different phone, suburbs you have dropped, a warranty sentence you cannot support. Pricing is where the included rows live.

Avoid
A stuffed name such as "Best Roofer Werribee Cheap". Bought reviews. A borrowed address. A first-place promise. A long contract. A supply-store category you do not operate.

Tile, metal, and gutters as services
Tile repairs and metal replacement are different lines. If you do one, list one. Colorbond belongs in the services only when you install that product, not as a keyword beside every sentence. Gutter replacement and gutter cleaning are services too. They do not need a second category. A roof inspection is a service if you offer a look without a commitment to the repair. Say what the inspection includes in your own words. We will not invent a checklist of compliance items.
Storm week is an hours problem. If you add temporary Saturday cover, we change the hours and change them back. A post can say you are taking leak calls this week. It should not say you will be first on Google because it rained. Insurance jobs are between you and the customer. We do not claim you are "approved" by an insurer unless you give us a wording you can stand behind, and even then it stays in your description, not as a badge we designed.
Before-and-after photos need the same roof, the same sort of light if you can manage it, and no neighbour's house used as the hero. If you only have an "after", post the after. Do not borrow a before from another job. Direction requests from the listing should land on a suburb you serve, not on a pin we dropped at a shopping centre for effect.
Seasonal content and job types
After rain, the calls are leaks and urgent repairs. The rest of the year is planned work: restoration, repairs, re-roofing, and gutters. This page does not attach a rainfall figure or a search volume to either season. List a job only if you do it. Gutter cleaning and a roof inspection are services. They are not automatic extra categories. A post can say you are taking leak calls this week. It should not say the rain will move your map position.
Roofing SEO by suburb
The suburb pages, for a roofer who actually drives there: Tarneit, Truganina, Werribee, Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Wyndham Vale, Williams Landing, Altona, Sunshine, Footscray, and Melton. Include a suburb in the service area only if you go. The council map is local SEO Melbourne.
On-page and off-page
On the listing and the site: the category from the dropdown, services for the jobs you do, the suburbs you will drive, hours you answer, and photos of your own roofs. The website should use the same name and phone. That is the on-page half.
Off the page: replies to reviews, and directory details that match. We do not buy links. A roofing association is not named here, because one was not checked for this page. If you already belong to a directory, the name and phone there should match the Google profile. We do not sign you up.
What the monthly report includes
Three counts from Google: calls, website clicks, and direction requests. A zero stays a zero. No position, no competitor, no forecast of leak calls. The price beside that page is A$399 setup and A$349 a month plus GST, one listing. There is no separate roofer rate. Wider quotes are on the pricing page.
Where, and what "working" looks like
Werribee and Point Cook are linked because leak calls cluster there, not because we have an office in either. Also Hoppers Crossing, Altona, Sunshine, Footscray, Melton, Truganina. The council map is local SEO Melbourne. Electricians are on electrician SEO. Plumbers are on plumber SEO.
Results, when they come, are gradual. More eligible searches, more taps, reviews that exist because you asked. No position promise. No lead tally. Faults we correct: vague category, missing services, a service area that does not match the van, hours that pretend you are on call, a logo instead of a roof, unanswered reviews, two phone numbers.
You provide manager access or a new profile in your name, the service list, the suburbs, the hours, and photographs of your work. After that, approvals. Book a free listing check. In person only if you are in Tarneit or Truganina.
What you hand us, and what the check looks for
A roof listing is still one profile. Tile, metal, gutter replacement, gutter cleaning, and a roof inspection are separate services, and only the ones you offer. A post can say you are taking leak calls this week. It cannot say the rain will move your map position. Hours that change for a storm week are changed back when the week ends. Direction requests should open on a suburb you serve.
Manager access, or a profile created in your name. The services you want calls for. The suburbs you will drive, written as names, not a radius. Hours, including whether rain changes them. Ten or so photographs if you have them. We can start with fewer and add posts as jobs finish. We cannot start with none and pretend the profile has proof.
The check, before any fee, looks for a contractor category, a missing leak service, hours that say you are on call when you are not, a logo where a roof should be, and reviews from the last wet week with no reply. You can keep the list and do the edits yourself. Book a free listing check if you want us to do them.
A roof plumber who also holds a plumbing registration still picks one primary category. The other skill goes in services if you want those calls. Two profiles for one van, one labelled plumber and one labelled roofer, is the duplicate pattern we will not set up.
Metal roofs and tiled roofs also photograph differently. A wide shot that hides which one you repaired is less useful than a close shot of the valley or the ridge you actually replaced. Take the close shot. Leave the neighbour's solar panels out of frame unless the job was the flashing around them, and even then do not imply you installed the panels. Solar is an electrician's category problem. On a roof listing it is a service only when you, the roofer, did that part of the work.
Questions
Does SEO work for roofers?
Leak searches start on a phone, especially after rain. A complete listing is how you are eligible to appear. Eligibility is not first place.
How can roofers get more leads from Google?
Roofing contractor as the primary category when the dropdown shows it, real services, a true service area, your before-and-after photos, and replies.
What photos should a roofer post?
Your own jobs, both frames from the same roof, addresses and faces left out. Never a stock photo.
Do storms change roofing searches?
Urgent leak searches are more common after heavy rain. We do not quote a percentage. Accurate hours matter more than a weather claim.
Can I appear in suburbs I travel to?
Yes, if you serve them, via the service area. You will usually be stronger near your base. One profile, not one per suburb.
What does it cost?
A$399 setup and A$349 a month plus GST, one listing, month to month.
Do you guarantee results?
We guarantee the listed work. We do not guarantee rankings or a number of leads.
