SEO for electricians in Melbourne's west
SEO for electricians in Wyndham, Hobsons Bay, Brimbank, Maribyrnong, and Melton. The listing should say you are an electrician, and only if the dropdown agrees.

SEO for electricians is the work that helps an electrician show up when people nearby search for the jobs they do. The map results are the usual prize. They come from a Google Business Profile, so SEO for tradies and the Google Business Profile page sit above this one. WestReach looks after one listing a month for electricians in Melbourne's west. The price is fixed. Ads and a new website are not in it.
How electrical searches split
Urgent searches are a power cut, a burning smell, a safety switch that trips again as soon as it is reset. Those callers want someone who is actually available, and they will phone a listing that looks open and close. Planned searches are a switchboard upgrade, extra power points, a ceiling fan, downlights, an EV charger, a smoke-alarm check. Those callers compare reviews and photos.
Your listing can serve both only if the hours are true. After-hours belongs on the profile if you take it. It is a false service if you do not. We will not add it to make the listing look keener.
Searches we will use only when they match work you do:
- emergency electrician, and only with real after-hours cover
- electrician open now
- switchboard upgrade
- safety switch keeps tripping
- power point installation
- ceiling fan installation
- EV charger installation
- smoke alarm installation
- LED downlights
If you install chargers, list the service. If you do not, leave it off, including in Point Cook and Williams Landing. Do not treat chargers as the default job for a new suburb.

Categories, without invented names
Google's category help says to choose a specific category from the dropdown, that you cannot create your own, and that the categories you select affect local ranking. It also says to add only a few extra categories, not one per product. The help page does not publish a table of Australian trade labels.
What we do: open your listing, type the trade, and choose the most specific row that completes "this business is an electrician". The name to look for is Electrician. Google's Business Information documentation shows a category id `gcid:electrician` with the display name Electrician, in a sample that uses a US region code. That is evidence the label exists in Google's category system. It is not proof the same extra labels exist on every Australian profile.
Removed from this page, because we could not verify them as official Australian category names:
- Solar energy contractor. A third-party list we checked does not offer that string. The solar label it does mention is a different name, and we will not swap in an unverified one.
- Electrical installation service.
- Lighting contractor.
If one of those strings appears in your live dropdown and it truly describes the core of the business, we can add it then. Until it appears, it stays off. Solar, if you do it, can be a service under Electrician without a second category. A fan, a charger, or a panel upgrade is a service too. The US documentation lists service types under the electrician category. We do not copy that US list onto an Australian profile as if it were mandatory.
Too many unrelated categories blur the business. A domestic electrician who does not do solar should not wear a solar category because the word is searched.
Services, area, photos, hours
Each service is its own item, in customer words. The service area is the western suburbs you drive, hidden home address if there is no shop. We never place a virtual office in Werribee or Point Cook to borrow their name.
Photos: your boards, your van, your finished fittings. No live exposed work as a style shot. No stock board from another country. No customer's house number in the frame.
Hours and a phone that is answered. The website link matches the site. If the site shows a licence or an REC number, it must be a number this business holds. WestReach will not invent one and does not hold an electrical licence. The website spoke, when you need it, is the electrician website page. A new site is not inside A$349.

Trust and reviews
Customers cannot see the quality of a board from the street. They look for a real business name, real photos, and reviews. Send a review link after a job. We reply to up to eight a month within two business days. You approve a reply to a negative review. No incentive. No fake stars.
Posts
Up to four a month, approved first. A switchboard you replaced, with permission and no address. A reminder to test safety switches, phrased as a tip, not as a standard you are quoting from a regulation we have not cited. Smoke alarms. A charger install if that is your work. The suburbs on this week's run. Nothing that implies a warranty period we were not told.

What to avoid
A name like "Best Electrician Werribee Cheap". Bought reviews. A fake address. A promise of first place. A long contract. A category pile that includes solar you do not install.

The licence line, and only that
Victorian customers ask about a licence and, for contracting businesses, an REC number. This page does not quote a penalty, a form number, or a layout the regulator has not had checked into the source log. The rule we will apply is narrow. If a number is shown, you supplied it and it belongs to this business. If you do not want it on the listing, it stays off. We will not copy one from a competitor's website to make the profile "look complete". The same rule is on the electrician website spoke. Marketing and licensing are different jobs.
What we will not put on an electrical listing
A copied REC number. A "licensed and insured" line when you have not shown us the details you want printed. A count of homes. A "same day" promise the hours do not support. A solar category the dropdown does not contain. A service area of every suburb in the west because the van can physically reach them. Reach and willingness are different. If you turn down Melton, Melton stays off the area, even though the Melton page exists for people who do go.
Photos of boards should be boards you worked on. Close enough to show the work, not so close that a customer's labels and address stickers are readable. A van photo uses your real signwriting. If the signwriting is only a first name, that is the name on the profile too, not "first name electrician" plus a suburb.
The free check for an electrician looks at whether emergency is claimed, whether the category is the trade or a generic builder, and whether the phone on the website is the phone on the listing. Bring the business name and the suburb you are based in. Book a free listing check.
On-page and off-page
On the page, and on the listing, the work is the category, the services, the service area, the hours, the description, and photos of your own jobs. The website should use the same name, phone, and job list. That is the on-page half.
Off the page, the work is replies to reviews and directory details that match. We do not buy links. The monthly report is one page: calls, website clicks, and direction requests from Google. An empty export stays empty. It is not a rank tracker and not a count of jobs won.
Jobs people type
Customers type the job, not the word SEO. Examples we will use only when you do the work: switchboard upgrade, a safety switch that keeps tripping, a power outage at the board, extra lighting, and smoke alarms. These are examples of wording, not search volumes. Volumes were not checked, so this page does not quote one. Leave off any job you do not want calls for.
What the monthly report includes
Three counts from Google: calls, website clicks, and direction requests. A sentence if a count is zero. No position, no competitor, no forecast. The price beside that page is A$399 setup and A$349 a month plus GST, one listing. Wider retainers publish other figures on the pricing page. There is no separate electrician rate.
SEO for electricians in Melbourne's west
The five councils are Wyndham, Hobsons Bay, Brimbank, Maribyrnong, and Melton. In-person meetings are Tarneit and Truganina. Suburb pages for the places a van may cover: Tarneit, Truganina, Werribee, Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Wyndham Vale, Williams Landing, Altona, Sunshine, Footscray, and Melton. Name a suburb on the listing only if you go. Do not add it to the business name to catch the search. The suburb pages describe the places. Your listing describes the business. Local SEO Melbourne is the map of that split.
Where
Across the five councils, including Werribee, Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Truganina, Altona, Sunshine, Footscray, and Melton. Also roofer SEO and plumber SEO if you want the neighbouring trades. Meetings in person: Tarneit and Truganina. The west map is local SEO Melbourne.
A realistic result is gradual: more matching searches, more taps, reviews that accumulate because you asked. No promised position. No promised job count. Faults we fix: a contractor category, missing services, a fantasy service area, hours that lie about after-hours, a logo with no board photos, dead reviews, a phone that does not match the website.
You need to give us manager access or let us create the profile in your name, the service list, the suburbs, the hours, and real photos. Then you approve posts and harsh replies. Book a free listing check.
Point Cook, Werribee, and the searches that name a suburb
The listing stays one profile for one electrical business. Switchboard upgrades, a safety switch that trips, extra lighting, and smoke alarms go in services only if you do those jobs. The dropdown still supplies the category. A solar label is added only when that label is in the list and solar is core work, not because a blog named it. Photos show boards you worked on, with customer labels out of frame. The service area lists suburbs you accept across the five western councils, and it leaves out the ones you turn down.
"Electrician Point Cook" is a suburb search. Public Transport Victoria's 2012-13 report ties Point Cook's train access to Williams Landing, and this site does not add a "no station" claim on top of that. "Electrician Werribee" is often someone in a neighbouring locality using that name. Neither search is a reason to put the suburb in your business name. Both are a reason to include the suburb in the service area if you go there. Point Cook and Werribee describe the places. Your listing describes your business. Keep those jobs apart.
If you only work the industrial side of Truganina and not the houses, say so in services. A warehouse roller-door motor and a house switchboard are both electrical work. They are not the same call. The Truganina page is where that split is explained for every trade. On this page it means: do not leave "commercial" ticked if you will not take the warehouse.
Questions
Does SEO work for electricians?
People search on a phone and call from the map. A complete, active listing is how you qualify for those results. It is not a promise you will be first.
How do electricians get more local jobs online?
Category, services, service area, your photos, replies. Then a website that lists the same services and suburbs. The listing comes first.
Should I list emergency work?
Only if you offer it. Say so in the services and set hours that match.
What Google category should an electrician use?
Look for Electrician in the dropdown and use it when it is there. Add another category only if that exact name is offered and it describes the business. Do not type Solar energy contractor unless the list itself shows it.
Can you show my licence?
Only the number you supply, in the description or on your site. We never invent one.
What does it cost?
A$399 setup and A$349 a month plus GST, one listing, month to month.
Do you guarantee first place?
No. The guarantee is the work on the pricing page.
