SEO for pest control businesses in Wyndham, Hobsons Bay, Brimbank, Maribyrnong and Melton. Your listing should say you are a pest control operator, name the pests you treat, and claim nothing wider.

Pest control SEO helps a pest control business show up when people nearby search for the pest in their house. The map results are the usual prize, and they come from your Google Business Profile. WestReach looks after one listing for one business in Melbourne's west: A$399 setup, then A$349 a month plus GST, month to month, no lock-in. Ads and a new website are not in it.

How pest control searches split

Urgent searches are a wasp nest by the front door, rodents in the roof the night before guests arrive, cockroaches in a rental kitchen, or a suspected termite find mid-renovation. Those callers want someone this week, often today, and they will phone a listing that looks open and close.

Booked searches are termite inspections, pre-purchase timber pest inspections, annual treatments, end-of-lease flea treatments before the final inspection, and commercial contracts for cafes, warehouses and body corporates. Those customers read the service list properly and check the operator is licensed for the work.

Bird proofing for solar panels sits between the two: planned work, searched by name, by owners with pigeons nesting under the panels.

Your listing can serve all of it only if the services match the licence authorisations behind them. A treatment the business is not authorised to perform does not go on the list to catch the search.

Searches we will use only when they match work you do:

  • pest control near me
  • termite inspection
  • termite treatment
  • pre purchase pest inspection
  • cockroach treatment
  • rodent control
  • wasp nest removal
  • spider treatment
  • end of lease flea treatment
  • solar panel bird proofing
  • commercial pest control

If you do not hold the timber pest authorisation, termite work comes off the list, including in Point Cook and Williams Landing. The highest-value service is not the default for a business that cannot legally sell it.

Categories, in plain terms

Google's category help says to choose a specific category from the list it offers, that you cannot create your own, and that categories affect local ranking — a few extra categories at most, not one per product.

What we do: open your listing, type the trade, and choose the most specific option that completes "this business is a pest control service". The name to look for is Pest control service. We never type in a label of our own.

Each pest and treatment is a service under the category, not an extra category. A general operator who does not do fumigation should not carry a fumigation label just because the word is searched.

Services, area, photos, hours

Each service is its own item, in customer words: general pest treatments, termite inspections, termite management systems where authorised, pre-purchase timber pest inspections, rodent control, wasp removal, end of lease flea treatments, solar panel bird proofing, commercial contracts. The service area is the western suburbs your run covers, with your home address hidden for a home-based operator. We never place a virtual office in Werribee or Point Cook to borrow a suburb's name.

Photos: your vehicle, your equipment, an inspection in progress with permission. Termite damage photos only where the customer agreed, and never presented as another property's problem. No stock photos of American houses and American pests.

Hours must match a phone that is answered. If your site shows a pest control licence number, it must be a number your technicians hold; see the licence section below. A new website is not inside the A$349 a month.

Trust and reviews

Pest control customers invite a stranger through every room of the house. They look for a real business name, reviews that mention turning up on time and explaining the treatment, and a licence they can check.

Send a review link after the treatment — and after the follow-up visit on termite work, not before it. We reply to up to eight reviews a month within two business days; you approve replies to negative reviews. No incentives, no fake stars.

Posts

Up to four a month, approved first: a seasonal reminder about booking termite inspections. What a pre-purchase inspection covers, in plain words. Nothing that promises a pest will never return, and nothing that names a chemical or a withholding period you have not given us in writing.

What to avoid

  • A name like "Best Pest Control Werribee Cheap"
  • Bought reviews
  • A fake address
  • A promise of first place
  • A long contract
  • A "pest free guaranteed" line no treatment can honour

The licence line, in plain terms

Who licenses pest control in Victoria

Pest control is a licensed trade in Victoria in the strict sense. The Victorian Department of Health licenses the individuals who apply pesticides to control insects and pest animals, and keeps a public register of licence holders any customer can search: Find a licensed pest control operator. That register is the strongest trust signal this trade has; your listing should make it easy to check you on it.

The authorisation classes

A licence carries authorisations, and the services you can sell follow them: general pest control excluding timber pests; general pest control including timber pests; pest animal control; and fumigation. Technicians are either fully qualified, or trainees under a fully qualified technician's supervision. Source: Victorian Department of Health.

The rule for your listing

If a licence number is shown, you supplied it and it belongs to a technician in your business. Services stay inside the authorisations that licence carries: no timber pest work without the timber pest authorisation, no fumigation without the fumigant authorisation, and trainee work never described as fully qualified work. If you do not want the number shown, it stays off. We will not copy one from a competitor's website to make a profile look complete.

One boundary: possums

Possums in a roof are not a pest control job. Possums are protected wildlife under Victoria's Wildlife Act 1975, and removing one from a building is work for a licensed wildlife controller, under rules that include releasing a trapped brushtail on the same property. Source: Victorian Government wildlife controller licence guide. Wildlife control is never listed as a pest service. If your business also holds a wildlife controller licence, that is a separate service, described separately.

What we will not put on a pest control listing

  • A copied licence number
  • A "licensed and insured" line when you have not given us the details to print
  • A count of homes treated that you did not supply
  • A "gone for good" promise about any pest
  • Treatment claims for pests outside the licence authorisations
  • A service area covering every suburb in the west just because the ute can reach them

Reach and run density are different. If a suburb breaks the run, it stays off the area.

Chemical claims get one more rule. If you have not told us the product and its label directions in writing, the listing does not discuss chemicals at all. It describes inspections, treatments and follow-up, which is what the customer is actually buying.

On-page and off-page

On the listing and your website, the work is the category, the services, the service area, the hours, the description, and photos of your own jobs. Your website should use the same name, phone number and treatment list. That is the on-page half.

Off the page, the work is replies to reviews and directory details that match. We do not buy links.

Jobs people type

Customers type the pest, not the word SEO: termite inspection, rodent control, wasp nest removal, pre-purchase inspections. We use wording like this only for work you do. Leave off any pest you do not want calls for.

"Termite treatment" is not one job, and owners research the systems by name before they call. List each one you install, in these words:

Chemical barriers

A treated zone is created in the soil around and under the building, using a termiticide applied to the label directions. The most common system for existing homes; re-treatment periods apply.

Reticulation systems

A pipe network around the building lets the treated zone be topped up over time without re-trenching. Common on new builds and renovations, and searched as its own service.

Baiting and monitoring

Stations around the property are checked on a schedule. Where termites feed, bait is introduced to the colony, and monitoring continues after activity stops. Owners choose it for ongoing checks rather than a one-off treatment.

Pre-purchase timber pest inspections

A pre-purchase inspection is done to Australian Standard AS 4349.3, and the report is the product: evidence of termite activity or past damage, borer and fungal decay in timbers, conditions that attract termites (moisture, poor ventilation, timber in ground contact), and what should be done about each finding. Buyers, conveyancers and agents all read it, so it is written to be understood by all three.

What the monthly report includes

Three counts from Google: calls, website clicks and direction requests, with a note when a count is zero. No positions, no competitor comparisons, no forecasts, and no separate pest control rate.

Pricing for pest control SEO services

A$399 setup, then A$349 a month, plus GST, for one pest control business and one listing. Month to month, with no lock-in contracts. Ads, a new website and extra listings are not included. The pricing page lists the full inclusions.

SEO for pest control businesses in Melbourne's west

WestReach works across the five western councils — Wyndham, Hobsons Bay, Brimbank, Maribyrnong and Melton — and meets in person in Tarneit and Truganina. Name a suburb in your service area only if you go there. Never add a suburb to your business name to catch a search.

Pest work follows the housing. New estates in Tarneit and Truganina sit on former farmland and produce steady general treatments and termite inspection bookings as homes change hands. Older housing in Sunshine, Footscray and Altona produces timber pest work in weatherboard and brick veneer stock, plus rodent calls through winter.

The listing answers both with services written the way each customer writes them: "termite inspection before auction" is a different search from "something in the roof at night", and both should find the same honest business. What the listing should never do is advertise a treatment the licence does not cover because that search converts well.

"Pest control Werribee" is a suburb search. It is answered by your service area, not by renaming your business.

A realistic result is gradual: more matching searches, more taps, reviews that accumulate because you asked after the follow-up. No promised position, no promised job count. The faults we fix: services outside the licence authorisations, a generic category, missing services, a fantasy service area, unanswered reviews, a mismatched phone.

The free check looks at whether the service list matches the licence authorisations, whether the category is the trade or a generic cleaning label, and whether the phone on your website matches your listing. Questions

How do people find a pest control business on Google?

People search on a phone the moment they find a pest problem, and book the operator who looks licensed, local and available. A complete, active listing is how you qualify. It is not a promise you will be first.

What matters most on the listing?

The category comes first, then services kept inside your licence authorisations, your service area, your photos, and your replies to reviews. After that, a website that lists the same treatments and suburbs. The listing comes first.

Can I advertise termite work?

You can advertise termite work only if you hold the authorisation that covers timber pests. If you do not, the service stays off, and general work carries the listing.

Which category should a pest control business use?

Look for Pest control service in Google's category list and use it when it is there. Add another category only if that exact name is offered and it describes your business.

Will you put a licence number on my listing?

We will show only a number you supply, belonging to a technician in your business. We never invent one, and services will be written to match its authorisations.

What does it cost?

A$399 setup and A$349 a month plus GST for one listing, month to month, with no lock-in contracts.

Do you guarantee first place?

No. Nobody can honestly guarantee a map position. What we guarantee is the work: a listing kept complete, accurate and active every month.
