Landscaping marketing for landscapers in Melbourne's west

Landscaping marketing for businesses in Wyndham, Hobsons Bay, Brimbank, Maribyrnong, and Melton. The listing should say which side of the trade you are on, design and construction, maintenance, or both, and nothing wider.

Landscaping marketing is the work that helps a landscaping business show up when people nearby search for the gardens they want built or kept. Landscaper SEO is the search half of that work. The map results are the usual prize. They come from a Google Business Profile, so SEO for tradies and the Google Business Profile page sit above this one. WestReach looks after one listing a month for landscaping businesses in Melbourne's west. The price is fixed. Ads and a new website are not in it.

How landscaping searches split

Project searches are the high-value half: a full backyard build, a retaining wall, a deck and pergola, paving, or a front garden redesign after a renovation. Those customers research for weeks, save photos, and compare businesses whose galleries look like the garden they want.

Ongoing searches are the steady half: garden maintenance, lawn care, hedge trimming, irrigation repairs. Those customers want reliability and a local round, and they churn when a business stops showing up.

The two halves should not be mixed into one blur. A landscape construction business that lists lawn mowing to catch searches will field calls it does not want, and a maintenance business wearing a construction label will be measured against galleries it does not have. List what you sell, in the order you want it.

Searches we will use only when they match work you do:

  • landscaper near me
  • landscape design
  • landscape construction
  • retaining wall builder
  • paving services
  • deck and pergola builder
  • garden maintenance
  • lawn mowing service
  • irrigation installation

If you only maintain gardens and never build, construction terms come off the list, including in Point Cook and Williams Landing. Do not treat the biggest project type as the default for a new suburb.

Categories, without invented names

Google's category help says to choose a specific category from the dropdown, that you cannot create your own, and that the categories you select affect local ranking. It also says to add only a few extra categories, not one per product.

What we do: open your listing, type the trade, and choose the most specific row that completes "this business is a landscaper". The name to look for is Landscaper. If your core is construction and the dropdown offers a landscape construction row, we can look at it with the list open. We will not type in a label of our own.

Retaining walls, paving and planting are services under the category, not extra categories. Too many unrelated categories blur the business. A maintenance round should not wear a design label because the word is searched.

Services, area, photos, hours

Each service is its own item, in customer words: landscape design, landscape construction, retaining walls, paving, decks and pergolas, garden maintenance, irrigation. The service area is the western suburbs you work in, hidden home address if there is no yard. We never place a virtual office in Werribee or Point Cook to borrow their name.

Photos carry this trade. Your builds at handover, your gardens a season later if the client agrees, a wall before backfill and after. No supplier catalogue gardens. No display gardens from an expo presented as client work. No customer's house number in the frame.

Hours and a phone that is answered. The website link matches the site. If the site shows a building practitioner registration number for structural work, it must be a number this business holds; see the registration section below. A new website is not inside A$349 a month plus GST.

Trust and reviews

Landscaping customers buy with their eyes. They look for a gallery that holds together, reviews that name the project type, and a business that answers questions about stages and timelines plainly.

Send a review link after handover, and after the first maintenance visit on a build you will keep servicing. We reply to up to eight a month within two business days. You approve a reply to a negative review. No incentive. No fake stars.

Posts

Up to four a month, approved first. A backyard build finished before summer, with permission and no address. A retaining wall mid-build showing the drainage going in. Planting suited to the west's wind and clay, phrased as a tip from your own work. The suburbs on this month's rounds. Nothing that implies a completion date we were not told.

What to avoid

A name like "Best Landscaper Werribee Cheap". Bought reviews. A fake address. A promise of first place. A long contract. A gallery of gardens you did not build.

The order is a free check, setup, the monthly care, then the numbers: calls, website clicks, direction requests. Pricing has the exclusions: ads, site builds, blogs, social, review removal, rank guarantees.

The registration line, and only that

Landscaping straddles two worlds in Victoria, and the listing should not blur them. The Building and Plumbing Commission's landscaping guidance explains that where a job includes even a small component of domestic building work, a registered building practitioner is required if the total contract price exceeds $10,000, and it lists the limited registration classes that specialise in landscaping work, including Domestic Builder (Limited) classes for structural landscaping, retaining walls, and gates and fences. Source: Landscaping, Building and Plumbing Commission.

Planting, garden beds and maintenance are not building work, and this page will not describe them as registered work. Structural work you are registered for can be named, in the class you hold, with the number you supply. If you do not want the number on the listing, it stays off. We will not copy one from a competitor's website to make the profile "look complete". Marketing and registration are different jobs.

What we will not put on a landscaper's listing

A copied registration number. A "registered and insured" line when you have not shown us the details you want printed. A count of gardens built. A "start next month" promise your schedule does not support. Photos from a supplier's catalogue or an expo display. A service area of every suburb in the west because the trailer can physically reach them. Reach and rounds are different. If you turn down Melton, Melton stays off the area, even though the Melton page exists for people who do go.

Photos should be work you built or maintain. A trailer or ute photo uses your real signwriting. If the signwriting is only a first name, that is the name on the profile too, not "first name landscaping" plus a suburb.

The free check for a landscaping business looks at whether construction and maintenance are separated honestly, whether the category is the trade or a generic gardener label on a construction business, and whether the phone on the website is the phone on the listing. Bring the business name and the suburb you are based in. Book a free listing check.

On-page and off-page

On the page, and on the listing, the work is the category, the services, the service area, the hours, the description, and photos of your own jobs. The website should use the same name, phone, and service list. That is the on-page half.

Off the page, the work is replies to reviews and directory details that match. We do not buy links. The monthly report is one page: calls, website clicks, and direction requests from Google. An empty export stays empty. It is not a rank tracker and not a count of projects won.

Jobs people type

Customers type the project, not the word SEO. Examples we will use only when you do the work: landscape design, retaining walls, paving, garden maintenance, and full backyard builds. These are examples of wording, not search volumes. Volumes were not checked, so this page does not quote one. Leave off any project you do not want enquiries for.

What the monthly report includes

Three counts from Google: calls, website clicks, and direction requests. A sentence if a count is zero. No position, no competitor, no forecast. The price beside that page is A$399 setup and A$349 a month plus GST, one listing. Wider retainers publish other figures on the pricing page. There is no separate landscaper rate.

Pricing for landscaping marketing services

A$399 setup plus GST, then A$349 a month plus GST, for one landscaping business and one listing. Month to month, with no lock-in contracts. Ads, a new website, and extra listings are not included. See pricing.

Landscaping marketing in Melbourne's west

The five councils are Wyndham, Hobsons Bay, Brimbank, Maribyrnong, and Melton. In-person meetings are Tarneit and Truganina. Suburb pages for the places a crew may cover: Tarneit, Truganina, Werribee, Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Wyndham Vale, Williams Landing, Altona, Sunshine, Footscray, and Melton. Name a suburb on the listing only if you go. Do not add it to the business name to catch the search. The suburb pages describe the places. Your listing describes the business. Local SEO Melbourne is the map of that split.

Where

Across the five councils, including Werribee, Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Truganina, Altona, Sunshine, Footscray, and Melton. Also carpenter SEO and builder SEO if you want the neighbouring trades. Meetings in person: Tarneit and Truganina. The west map is local SEO Melbourne.

A realistic result is gradual: more matching searches, more taps, reviews that accumulate because you asked at handover. No promised position. No promised project count. Faults we fix: construction and maintenance blurred into one list, missing services, a fantasy service area, a catalogue gallery, dead reviews, a phone that does not match the website.

You need to give us manager access or let us create the profile in your name, the service list, the suburbs, the hours, and real photos. Then you approve posts and harsh replies. Book a free listing check.

New estates create the west's landscaping work. A house in Tarneit, Truganina or Wyndham Vale is often handed over with a bare yard and a deadline from the estate or the rental agreement, so the search is a full build: paving, turf, a wall, planting, done once. Older suburbs ask in pieces: a retaining wall in Sunshine, a front garden in Footscray, a deck in Altona. The listing can serve both if the services are written as builds and maintenance separately, with photos sorted the same way. What it should not do is borrow the gallery language of a design studio for a maintenance round, or the other way around.

"Landscaper Hoppers Crossing" is a suburb search. It is answered by the service area and the suburb page together, not by renaming the business.

Questions

Does landscaping marketing work for landscapers?

Homeowners research gardens on a phone for weeks and shortlist from galleries and reviews. A complete, active listing is how you qualify for those results. It is not a promise you will be first.

How do landscapers get more local projects online?

Category, services written as builds or maintenance, service area, your photos, replies. Then a website that lists the same services and suburbs. The listing comes first.

Should I market construction and maintenance together?

Market both only if you sell both, and write them as separate services. They attract different customers with different budgets and timelines.

What Google category should a landscaper use?

Look for Landscaper in the dropdown and use it when it is there. Add another category only if that exact name is offered and it describes the business.

Can you show my registration for structural work?

Only the number and class you supply, in the description or on your site. We never invent one, and planting and maintenance will not be dressed up as registered building work.

What does it cost?

A$399 setup and A$349 a month plus GST, one listing, month to month, with no lock-in contracts.

Do you guarantee first place?

No. The guarantee is the work on the pricing page.
